Monday Made It! August 17

Happy Monday! This has been an INCREDIBLY BUSY week so I've got quite the list of Made Its! Thanks, 4th Grade Frolics for hosting such a fun linky! :)

Just like last week, this week has mostly revolved around nursery prep + beginning of the school year.  I feel like I just have to get through the next week and my to do list will magically be shorter. I should start preparing myself emotionally for THAT disappointment.

So last week, my brother & sister in law made a last minute decision to fly in from Dallas for ONE DAY to complete my nursery! WHAT?! Oh to be young and free and full of energy... and a disposable income.

Just over a week ago, on my Five for Friday post, I laid out how desperate the nursery prep situation was in our house.

I can't even believe that was only a week ago! Nor can I believe how much work my siblings and husband did to get this finished! You can see the entire reveal on my nursery reveal post from last week!

I love this linky because I get to brag on my "Made Its." The nursery was a LOT of work, including SEVERAL DIY projects. My favorite project, that I'm most proud of, is this chair!

I bought this chair for $20 on Craigslist and found the ottomon for $5 at a thrift store. Mom and I went on a hunt for the perfect fabric (which we found at Hobby Lobby) and then I used this tutorial as a guide to reupholster.

It took TWO of us SEVEN HOURS to pull out all 4 BILLION staples & get the fabric removed. I'm not sure I'll ever take on a project like this one again, but I'm SO IN LOVE with this chair, I'm very glad I did it! We used scotch guard to give it a little added protecton. :) Also, for the record, it is surprisingly comfortable!

One last little nursery DIY is this pillow. After searching a couple different stores for a pillow that goes with the others in the room, and is the right size and price for what I wanted, I gave up and decided to make my own.

For this, I used leftover upholstery fabric from the chair & just painted the monogram on with leftover latex wall paint! Since I would have completely botched it if I tried to free hand it, I just printed the monogram on the computer, slid the paper into the pillow case, and traced it with a pen. Since the fabric is white, it was easy to see through.

It didn't turn out QUITE as adorable as I'd envisioned, but it's a sweet enough addition and balances the space perfectly.

And now for some non-baby goodies. :) This year I've committed to my first Growing Bundle in my TPT store. I have been creating informational text packs like these for a while, but finally got motivated to organize and bundle them! This week I finished putting together my September Primary Informational Text Pack. I'm having fun researching and learning new little tid bits about these different topics! Hopefully the kiddos enjoy the new knowledge too! The September Pack includes texts on Labor Day, Football, Johnny Appleseed, Apples, Rosh Hashanah, and The US Constitution.

Last made it this week is my Labor Day Writing Center! This center is brand new in my store and will be on sale THIS WEEK for the special one day TPT sale!

And that's five! Thanks for stopping by! I would love to connect with you. :) Make sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, & BlogLovin' to stay in touch & to keep up with the adventures!
