Monday Made It: Aug 10

Today I'm linking up for the FIRST TIME EVER (woo!) with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It! :) I've been on a MADE IT rooooll the last few weeks, so I think it's about dern time I start documenting these productive moments in my life. They may just come to a screeching halt soon (hopefully sooner rather than later, because I am OVER PREGNANCY!).

So! This week has been a combo of prepping materials for the school year and prepping goodies for the nursery [update: the nursery is now complete! Check it out HERE!]. Here's what I've got. :)

This Fun Birthday Gift for my nephew's fifth birthday this month! It's a science kit with supplies and instructions for 22 fun experiments! :)

Ok, so this one is kind of cheating because I already blogged about it, but that was before I decided to link up for this Made It series and I just love how this simple & fun gift turned out!

Vocabulary Card Sets Galore
I committed to updating all of my vocabulary cards this year, so I've spent a lot of time making these. I love how they're turning out! :)

Plus, I'm linking up with Kelly & Kim for #MarkdownMonday this week, so they're on sale! I still have a lot of work to do and am hoping to have a few minutes to finish another set or two this week.

So. Many. Calendars, Lists, and Plans
I'll spare you from photos of the lists I've made this week. COUNTLESS! Does anybody else do that? I will write the same list over and over again, changing it slightly because I don't feel organized enough yet. After going through way too much paper, I finally typed up my "Before Charlie Arrives" list. I'm a hot mess.

This is a calendar I made for my blog posts. I want to be more intentional about blogging. It's such a great outlet for me! Plus I love connecting with other teacher friends. I want to be intentional about balancing what I'm writing about and consistent with the types of linkies I'm involved in, so VOILA! Pretty bright calendar.

Then there's this. Less pretty. Less bright. But totally practical. I love making charts so I whipped this one up for a teacher friend to keep anecdotal notes/records on her ELL kiddos.

A Wall hanging from the heart
GAH! This one's my favorite guys. I made this to hang in Charlie Grace's nursery. I've loved this verse for along time and really wanted to highlight it in her room. It's a reminder for me as much as it is for her.

This week I got into #preach mode and wrote this ditty on my Instagram:

My wish for the world is that little girls would grow up knowing their worth. Knowing their value. Knowing they don't have to settle or concede because they deserve the best for their lives. Knowing they don't have to compare themselves to others or live up to the impossible beauty standards set by media today and knowing they deserve men in their lives who also understand their value. My deepest desire and most fervent prayer is that I can teach these things to little miss Charlie Grace. That she will grow up confident, and emboldened by the fact that she was designed by an amazing creator.

"I am fearfully and wonderfully made" Psalm 139:14

I can't wait until it's hung!

And that's all! Thanks for stopping by! :) Make sure you stop back next week to see the nursery reveal!!

  2. What a fun gift for your nephew! I might have to steal that idea! And I've decided that with school starting back up that I need to make a blog post calendar as well to keep myself organized and on top of things!
P.S.- I love love love what you wrote on Instagram. Absolutely beautiful, especially because I have a 3 year old little girl who I wish the same things for! Thank you!
